WORSHIP WITH US THIS HOLY WEEK
HOLY WEEK HIGHLIGHTS:
OUR LAST LENTEN WEDNESDAY: FEEDING BODY, MIND, AND SOUL
We begin at 5:30 with our simple but beautiful Stations of the Cross service in the Church from. Then at 6:00 in the Parish Hall, enjoy a light supper of Soup & Bread, followed at 6:30 by a mini-class with hands-on experience of the holy oils of Holy Week—spikenard, myrrh, hyssop, aloes—led by Rev. Darby Line who is also a clinical aromatherapist.
Always a beautiful and moving service, our Maundy Thursday service of Communion, washing of feet, stripping of the altar, and procession to the altar of repose begins at 7:00 pm in the church.
GOOD FRIDAY: ST. MARY’s STATIONS OF THE CROSS
The Liturgy of Good Friday begins at 12 noon. A very special and deeply moving Stations of the Cross begins at 1:00 pm, with readings from the perspective of Mary, the Mother of Jesus.
HOLY SATURDAY FAMILY SERVICE, 5 pm
Worshippers of all ages join us every year for this lovely celebration that includes the lighting of the Paschal fire, Holy Communion, and the release of the butterflies.
THE GREAT FEAST OF OUR LORD’S RESURRECTION!
We celebrate at 8:00 am with Holy Communion and Easter hymns, and then at 10:30 with the High Mass of Easter. Come worship with us, and celebrate the Risen Lord!
Prayer Shawl Ministry: "Knit a stitch, pray a stitch." if you can knit a basic knit stitch and pray, you can make a prayer shawl! All instructions provided! These lovely items are given to elderly and sick neighbors who find great comfort in them. See information on the bulletin board in the Narthex.
Coffee Hour: Be a key part of St. Martin's hospitality ministry by hosting a coffee hour! Sign-up sheet in the Narthex; volunteers always needed and always welcome!
Agape Cafe and Bingo: Guests and Volunteers are welcome in any capacity at Tuesday Bingo and Thursday Agape Cafe.
Choir: If you can carry a tune and enjoy fellowship and music-making, come sing with our choir! Reading music is a plus but not required! No auditions--just come! All voices welcome but we especially invite women (sopranos and altos). Rehearsal is every Sunday at 9:15 in the choir loft. Help lead the 10:30 congregation in making a joyful noise unto the Lord!
Special events: from time to time St. Martin needs volunteers to meet and greet people at community events. It's fun, and a great way to meet your neighbors! Let the office know if you're interested in helping out in this enjoyable way.
Share your unique gifts! What are you good at? Cooking? Yard work? Reading? Singing? Playing an instrument? Designing creative liturgy? Hospitality? Let us know! Don't keep your light under a bushel--use it to the glory of God in supporting the work of our parish!
