Healing Ministry at St. Martin
“Is there anyone sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” –James 5:14
Healing ministry has been part of the Christian tradition since its earliest days. Through prayer and anointing, the healing power of God is shared with those in need, bringing peace and wholeness to body, mind and spirit.
St. Martin’s Healing Ministry includes:
Weekly Service of Healing every Thursday at 12:05 pm in the Chapel of the Resurrection;
Monthly Service of Healing, Anointing, and Laying on of Hands as part of 10:30 a.m. Mass on the first Sunday of each month;
Prayer Shawl Ministry, in which members knit shawls for those who are ill and/or shut in: “Knit a stitch, Pray a stitch.” Through this ongoing ministry, these lovely shawls bring comfort to many. Recipients often remarks that when they put the shawl around their shoulders, they literally feel God’s love surrounding them.
