TGiJ —Transforming Grace in Jesus

A TGiJ parish desires to better grow in our personal relationship with Jesus and therefore better articulate His love to our self, our family, our parishioners, our guests, our community and our diocese.

We are a TGiJ Parish!

Q. What is a TGiJ parish?
A. It is a parish that intentionally strives to put Jesus first in all we do. It is our faithful response to acknowledge that the Holy Spirit is already in the world around us accomplishing God's work and we are called to join God there.

Q. How does a TGiJ parish discover where the Holy Spirit is calling us to join God?
A. Through an ever deepening love relationship with God, in Jesus, do we learn how to listen to God's voice and discover where we are being called to join with the Holy Spirit in the work of the Church.

Q. If a TGiJ parish listens for God's voice, how is it heard?
A. Through a love relationship with God, in Jesus, a TGiJ parish hears God's voice in community. Through the practice of intentional prayer, the study of scripture and spiritual works, worship, topic research, dialogue and listening to one another, is the voice of God best discovered.

Q. How does a TGiJ parish keep Jesus as the central focus and purpose of its ministry programs?
A. A TGiJ parish avoids the pitfall of jumping into a ministry program for the purpose of accomplishing the work at hand. Rather, a TGiJ parish has the specific intent to begin each meeting placing Christ and His purposes as the reason for accomplishing the day's business. This is practically accomplished prior to each ministry group meeting using spiritual aides such as:

  • Intentional prayer
  • Reflection on scripture, or a bible study
  • Small group sharing of specific encounters with the Lord since your last meeting-based on the Cursillo Fifth Day Reunion
  • Holy Communion when possible

A TGiJ parish desires to better grow in our personal relationship with Jesus and therefore better articulate His love to our self, our family, our parishioners, our guests, our community and our diocese.

TGiJ Prayer

O God, in Jesus Christ you revealed the face of your love, and called us to new life in you.
Transform our lives in your grace that we may know your purpose.
So bind our lives to Jesus that we joyfully go out showing your love and grace to all,
trusting that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us,
accomplishing greater things for us than we could either ask or imagine;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
